Astragalus polysaccharides are a class of substances with a higher content and strong immunological activity in Astragalus medicinal materials. Astragalus polysaccharide is a complex polysaccharide with multiple functions such as regulating immune response, diminishing swelling, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, etc. It is clinically used as immune enhancer, antibacterial and antiviral drugs.

1. According to the "Notice of the Ministry of Health on Further Regulating the Management of Health Food Ingredients", Astragalus is in the list of items that can be used in health food.

2. On December 2, 2020, the European Union Food Safety Administration (EFSA) issued Regulation (EU) No. 2020/1821, approving Panax Notoginseng and Astragalus extracts as new foods on the market.
